THE WORD OF GOD CLEANSES US - PS PAUL SILWAY 1) Now ye are clean through the word which I (Jesus) have spoken unto you (John 15:3). 2) Imagine a Christian going to church and hearing the message from Pastor Paul. He gives it full attention till the end and then he goes out and gossips with his friends or speaks and hears unwholesome words. 3) Imagine a Christian who does not go to church to hear godly messages that could wash him and make him clean. All the time he talks to worldly friends and then he goes watching unwholesome things on TV or internet 4) Now he doesn't feel like praying or studying the Word of God as his mind is defiled. The defilement in his mind is obstructing him to do godly things. He feels condemned and even begins to feel too “dirty” to go to church, thinking he’d need to “clean up” first. He could start praying, “Oh God, please revive me.” 5) For this Christian, it’s now very necessary to go to Church! His unedifying action could slow down his progress spiritually if it continues, but he needs an urgent Word-bath! No one is ever “too dirty” for God. In our opening verse, Jesus said, “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you” (John 15:3). 6) It’s the ministry of the Word to cleanse you of sin, guilt, and all unrighteousness. So, don’t stay at home when you ought to be in Church because you thought you did something wrong that made you “too dirty” for God. Go to Church! He’ll clean you up! He does it through the Word. 7) Jesus didn’t come for perfect men. Rather, He came to make men perfect. He specializes in changing imperfect people and bringing them to perfection. 8) A Christian should never become a stumbling block for another Christian to skip church. Don't speak evil or negative of the Pastor or the church; for the Pastor is called by God. It's His choice not yours. The pastor may not be perfect; but remember God calls the unqualified and qualifies them. 9) Some Christians when they leave a church try to make others too leave a grace church. Our Father is really very grieved because every local church is the Body of Christ, which is God's family. Instead of fighting the real enemy that is Satan's and his tricks and deception, they try to break the family of God. 10) Never blame the church or pastor for your lack of spiritual growth because the Word of God and the Sewer is not your problem; the problem is your heart. 11) Jesus speaks of the four hearts in Luke 8:11-15. There are four hearts out of which only one heart (ground) produced an harvest. The other three did not produce fruits because one heart was the HARD HEART the seeds were stolen by Satan and demons. Then there was THE SHALLOW HEART (no root, without depth; the seed sprouted easily but withered); then there was THE CROWDED HEART (by worries, wealth, and desire for other things/ had weeds that choked out the plants before they could yield any crop).
